Coquihalla Highway The Coquihalla Highway is a tolled highway that travels in between Hope and Kamloops, as passes through Merritt along the way. The highway is utilized by people travelling between Vancouver on the Lower Mainland and places east of Kamloops, including Calgary and Banff. The highway is known for being particularly scenic, as it is surrounded by mountains, but the steep grade can be treacherous in the winter and leads to many overheated car engines in the summer.
